ALESSIO MENCONI & ORCHESTRA – A BIG BAND FOR WES

A Big Band for Wes is a project by Alessio Menconi born with the intent of paying homage to the genius of Wes Montgomery more than 100 years after his birth, with orchestral formations and large ensembles.
Active in the world of jazz guitar for over 35 years, a great expert of jazz guitar and the style of various guitarists, including Montgomery, Menconi offers a repertoire of the American guitarist, blending the great sound of tradition with the personal and modern influences developed during his long concert and recording career.

Maestro Gianluca Tagliazucchi personally takes care of the arrangements in a complete, original and practical way, adapting them to the resident orchestral formation. With arrangements of original pieces by Menconi, others of pieces by Wes Montgomery adapted both for Large Ensemble (rhythm section + 8 elements), and for complete Big Band formation (17-18 elements).
